Author Leo Buscaglia was asked to judge a contest. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a 4-year old boy whose next door neighbor was an elderly man who had recently lost his wife. On seeing the man crying, the boy went into the man's yard, climbed on his lap, and just sat there. When the boy's mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry." Scripture teaches us, "Weep with those who weep, rejoice with those who rejoice." Capability to cry and laugh with others is a sign of spiritual compassion, whether in a child or an adult.
